Coravin Pure™ Argon Capsules power Coravin Timeless and Pivot™ Wine Preservation Systems. They are filled with pure Argon gas that pressurizes the bottle to allow wine to flow out the spout, then blankets the remaining wine once the System is removed.

 

Argon Capsules are NOT compatible with Coravin Sparkling™ - they are specifically made to be used on still wines.

What is a Coravin Pure™ Capsule?

Coravin Pure™ Capsules power all Coravin Wine Preservation Systems, by pressurizing an unopened bottle of wine with Argon gas to pour a sip, a glass, or more. But not all Argon gas is born equal. Only Coravin Pure™ Capsules utilize our proprietary Four Point Purity Process. Each Capsule pours about 15, 5 ounce glasses of wine with Coravin Timeless Systems and 20, 5 ounce glasses of wine with Pivot Systems.

How many pours should I get per capsule?

The Pivot System will deliver approximately 20 5-ounce pours, (150 ml) per capsule – or about 100 ounces of wine. To optimize your pour, use a short press of the button and let the wine flow. If you wish a bit more just give the button another quick press.

Can I ship Coravin Pure™ Capsules?

Shipping compressed gas capsules requires special handling and packaging. Unless you are certified to ship compressed gas you will not be able to ship. Coravin uses compliant procedures and packing materials to properly ship Coravin Pure™ Capsules around the world. We will be happy to ship to your desired location.

Does Argon affect the taste of the wine?

Argon is an inert, non-reactive gas, which means it does not engage with the wine or its components. Because of this property, argon is used in Coravin's wine by-the-glass systems to protect still wines from oxidation without altering their taste or aroma. This ensures that each pour maintains the integrity and quality of the wine.
